The MLPS district offers the following health services through the school nurse:
- Vision and hearing screenings and follow-up
- Early Childhood screening (formerly called Preschool Screening)
- Immunization compliance and monitoring
- Prescription medications during school hours
- Care for ill students during the school day
- Coordination of dental varnishing for elementary students
- Obtain dental kits and education for 1st graders
- Coordination of flu shots for staff and students
- Scoliosis screenings (5th and 6th grades)
- Growth and Development classes for 5th grade
